Joy To Our Hearts 2011 !!!

We had a wonderful Christmas time this year too. I should say our Christmas got over on 18th of Dec itself. Meeting the Children of "Arpudha Sowkyam Home" was a greatest Joy. Beautiful smiles spread  on the pretty faces of the Kids seeing us enter their place. We were overwhelmed with Joy as well, as we meet our friends too.

It took little a time to get settled, as JSM team were setting their Puppet stage, so we just were interacting with  the naughty bunch of them. I just have to mention about a little boy, Oh my! I really did forget his name, but I do remember his cheseeeeeeeeeeee smile, all the kids were telling us,"Sis, he always smiles, even while punished". Oh I love peoples with that cheseeeeeee smile you know, then how would I not a kid! Not just me, but really anybody would love him. You can check the pics below.

Mr. Smile !!

Well, then the kids entertained us with two welcome dance and a skit. Watching amateur acts of children is a real Joy. But a hilarious thing too happened while the kids were enacting the Skit, one of the care taker, while a child was speaking her dialogue suddenly barged in to just take the mic from her hands to teach her how to act with emotions, right in front of the audience. We really couldn't control our laugh, trust me, it happened three times.

Welcome Dance!

Yet another Dance!

The Rehearsal with the Audience lol !

Yeah, he is that. Then we started off with our progs, with a prayer by JSM chief Pas. Nehemiah Inbaraj. Continued wit an action song, a hilarious skit, and a wonderful testimony by Inbaraj, it definitely would have brought a great hope to the kids. I really don't know whether I am allowed to share it here or not. But it was really heart touching. It was boost to them, Hats off to Inba to share the wondrous, loving thing God has done in his life. For sure God will do this marvelous thing in the lives of those kids as well, as Jesus loves everyone and there's no partiality or prejudice with Him. All Jesus wants us to do is, open our heart, as He stands at the door and knocks.

Inba's Testimony !!

Yep, let me continue, just when he finished his testimony, Pas. Nehemiah concluded that session with a message and a Prayer. Now you must be wondering about the puppets, ain't you! We had no time people! But still we never had the heart to disappoint those little kids, who was so curiously watching the guys when they were setting up the stage. So, we decided, "It is time for Santa to visit the kids, why not bring out the puppets to welcome Santa". Oh you gotta check out the excited roar of the crowd when they saw the puppets, their hearts were leaping with Joy. Then came the Best Man Santa to wish them all a Merry Christmas! Again a bubbling excitement seeing that charming old man, we added to their Joy with a hymn
"Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way", dancing along with them. Hmmm, atlas it was getting late, and we decided to sign off, wishing them all "Feliz Navi Dad, Prospero Amigo Feliz Dad". Then went ahead to feast on the delicious Briyani from a really good Caterer Mr. Asif. Thanks to him for giving us all a wonderful food in a really less price. God bless his Business. Then after dinner we all packed to move, as we had to go a long way. We bid a loving good bye to the Kids, blessing them in the Name of our Lord Jesus, who really made this happen yet another time, through Chisel's...

Chisel's Christmas !!!!

Hi Friends,

The season of Christmas begin to all of us, and even to our Chisel's. We were lookin forward to start workin on our next Christmas mission of the year 2011. It was a chaos initially to fix a home that we wanna go, by God's grace confusions came to an end and we now pack our gifts to go to a home near Aranvoyal. That's somewhere in the outskirts of the city we live in.

The "Arpudha Sowkyam Service Home For Children", where around 24 children are been taken care of. We are glad to have "Jehovah Shalom Ministries" again to be a part of this great event. Our donors were generous yet another time to shower us with all the supplies we wanted to gift the Children with. All God's grace that we have come to this third year, we hope God will still continue to bless the Chisel's to go ahead with many more years and have a blessed Chisel's Christmas.

Whoever stops by to read this blog kindly bless this team with your one minute prayers. Thank you !!

Get His Attention !!

I was just going through this miracle of the Paralytic man getting healed, after going through an article of it. This miracle is been mentioned in three books of Bible Matthew, Mark and Luke. But here let me take your focus to one book and  I chose Luke randomly. Let me just put the picture of that place of miracle through these verses.

"One day as He (Jesus) was teaching, the pharsees and teachers of the law, who had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem, were sitting there. And the POWER OF THE LORD was present for Him to HEAL THE SICK." (Luke 5:17).

This verse shows us that all spiritually well built peoples were present there to listen to Jesus, and we also could see that Lord Jesus was there with His healing power to heal any sick who wants to be healed.

Luke 5:18 & 19 "Some men carrying a paralytic on a mat TRIED TO ENTER INTO THE HOUSE TO LAY HIM BEFORE JESUS". "When they COULD NOT FIND A WAY to do this because of the crowd, THEY WENT UP on the roof and lowered his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in FRONT OF JESUS". Amen.

Jesus had all the power to heal any sick who's gonna be brought to him there, but the people who sitting with him, the crowd, actually hindered a man from being blessed. Yes, the scriputure says clearly says who all was sitting there (doctrinely wise), what kind of power Jesus had while sitting among them, who (common people and not pastors or great teachers) brought a paralytic man. In spite of Jesus of having all the source to heal this man, coz of the hinderences of such people, that poor, paralysed man was unable to reach Jesus.

Dear people of God, many at times, its just the people around us, through their limited and little faith they scale God and give us one picture of "God-of-limited-access". And we too agree to their teaching and limit our blessings. But those guys who brought that parlytic man knew very clearly that, "If we get Jesus attention this friend of ours is saved", and so they took him to the roofs and lowered him through tiles in front of Jesus.

Nothing stopped them from dong this, they were never bothered about the people who refused to give way to take this man into the house, their focus was just on "HOW SHALL WE TAKE HIM TO THE ATTENTON OF JESUS". And that made them open the roof through the tiles. I really don't know how hard it would have been for them to lift this guy all the way to the roof and then dig through the roof !! THEY DID IT, COZ THEY HAD THE RIGHT PICTURE OF JESUS IN THEIR HEARTS AND THEY WERE NEVER PUT TO SHAME. Coz their friend or relative I don't know who, got healed, as well as got an Eternal life. Yes thats what happens to all who gets the attention of Jesus.

Lets now go deeper to the thoughts of that paralytic man through this verse-
"When Jesus saw THEIR  FAITH, He said, "Friend your sins are forgiven?". (Luke 5:20)

Here we could see Jesus saw THEIR FAITH, that THEIR was none but those four common guys. Hallelujah !!!! Surely I believe that paralyzed man would have lost all his hope when he saw the hinderences of his blessing to be recieved. But Jesus definitely honored those guys faith by not just healing their friend's paralysed body, but paralysed spirit as well.

A bodily paralysed human can never walk through his way to be healed or saved, likewise a SPIRITUALLY Paralysed human too, cannot go through the path of "The Way, The Light and The Truth" on his/her own. He/she definitely needs our fervent prayers, which shall take our pleas to Lord Jesus who can give them Health and Healing to their broken life, body and spirit. When I have mentioned PARALYTIC, don't ever be surprised for them to help you with their support to take your prayers to the roof, NO, THEY SURELY NEVER WILL. A bodily paralysed human can never move his/her body, its stiff beyond any slight adjustment. Its the same with a SPIRITUALLY paralyzed human too, they cannot believe nor do what you ask them to do. But Jesus is our only way and lets make sure we take our loved ones to Him, who can say "Take your mat and walk and your sins are forgiven". When WE GET THE ATTENTION OF JESUS, all that burdened you all through the journey of lowering from the roof, is solved.

"But you may know that Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins....." He said to the PARALYZED man, "I (Jesus) tell you, get up, take your mat and go home. Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home PRAISING GOD". (Luke 5:24,25)

I feel so blessed to share this revelation God gave me. Praises to Jesus my Lord. Amen !!!!!

Those guys knew Jesus is the only way fo their friend's life, how much they'd have loved to take that big step of Faith. Jesus Honors Love, coz He is Love and thats why all that He asked of us was "Love Thy Neighbors".

With Love,

When God is going to do something Wonderful, He often begins with difficulty- God’s Mysterious Ways !!!!

After my first Blog about ways of God I was inspired to share few more things here, hoping it would help a lot of people. Coz we can never deny the supremacy of God’s grace and favor in our lives. Though we do not see Him, we can definitely boast about the presence we feel when we kneel down with our burdened soul... I take pride in it to be a believer, which an agnostic always misses coz of his/her stubbornness. Nothing can satisfy a parched soul like that of God’s word which directly speaks into our troubled heart and painful situations we are in. so I am again here to write about the Mysterious ways of God to bless His beloved children… These journals made me understand what His ways was and how He works on His plan, and I wanted to share it with you’ll, who too might be at times pondering in your heart about the over turned tables, which made you look like a loser to all others eyes around you…

Our Daily Bread

By, Vernon Grounds:

“Rutherford, a member of the council that wrote the Westminster Confession, was imprisoned because of his beliefs. While in prison, he wrote this soul-strengthening letter expressing the joy that sustained him through his trials: “If God had told me some time ago that He was about to make me as happy as I could be in the world, and then had told me that He should begin by crippling me in all my limbs, and removing me from all my usual sources of enjoyment, I should have thought it a very strange mode of accomplishing His purpose. And yet, how is His wisdom manifest in this! For if you see a man shut up in a closed room, idolizing a set of lamps and rejoicing in their light, and you wished to make him truly happy by blowing out all his lamps; and then throw open the shutters to let in the light of heaven”.

When the candles that light up our darkness are blown out, let’s rejoice that God is throwing open the shuttered windows and pouring in the sunshine of His love. But we got to be the Children of Light…”

We value the light more fully after we’ve come through darkness. His ways are mysterious but not His love towards us. We have seen that in the Calvary Cross. Those who go through the deep waters of trials, adversity or affliction often cannot understand what God is doing. But God knows, and we must trust Him for the outcome. And someday we’ll rejoice in God’s wise plan. God bless !!!!

Ann Chisel.

God Sometimes Puts Us In The Dark To Show Us That He Is The Light !!!!

I have wondered many times 'how can a suffering be a Blessing', have they lost words to comfort the one who is sick and so instead tell them its a Blessing !!!!!! I couldn't accept this at all, it sounded absurd, insanely absurd. If God loves me, then why would he want me to suffer !!!! Had this doubt in my mind and I just gave it to God to answer me. Days passed by. Then I was thinking, may be Christian life is to accept sufferings and tribulations. But then why should Jesus say it is finished in the Cross and tell we are Redeemed !!!!! Oh my, confusing is the Love of God I felt. Felt standing with a fake smile whenever I hear someone say ‘God Loves you and so you’re disciplined. God disciplines those He loves’. But in heart was getting more and more confused each day, until came across this beautiful journal in a book called the “Our Daily Bread” one morning. I decided to share it people around me, so that they could understand God’s purpose in it and what does God’s love got to do with their suffering.

Our Daily Bread:

By, Herb Vander Lugt:

A robust 76-year-old man responded to my comment about his good health by saying, “It’s the greatest of all blessings”. I replied, “Are you sure you really mean that? I know a man who is thankful for illness because that’s how he learned to depend on God’s presence and power”. Smiling, my friend said, “You’re right. Trusting God is far greater blessing than good health. If it takes sickness and pain to think about the glory of God and heaven, I say, praise the Lord for sickness and pain”.

The psalmist wrote, “It is good for me that I have been afflicted” (Ps. 119:71). It is in a time of trouble that many believers discover the tenderness of God and experience His presence. They learn that God is with them. They would rather not go through the difficulty again, but they look back upon it as worth every bit of hurt they endured.

Good health and financial prosperity are great Blessings, and we should be thankful for them. But we need not get discouraged when we encounter illness or adversity. Through them we come to know God better, and we can say with Job, “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You”. And that is the greatest of all blessings”.

Would you not agree with them !!!!! When we are blessed even when you could hardly have time for Him, then how much more we shall be blessed when we are looking upon Him day and night !!!! This suffering leads to us to such desperation that we look upon Him, fully dependent upon His grace and mercy, which for sure is very abundant. God Bless !!!!!!

Little Drops !!!!!!!!

Hi People, it’s been days since I blogged. Well it’s about another mission we accomplished through Chisel's I am penning down about.

Little Drops- An old age home in Chennai. It’s a home for destitute. They had around 400 0r so aged people to be taken care of. 75% of them were bedridden. Their taken care with regular medicines and food. Their  been provided with clothing and shelter. One of the founders Paul says "By God's Grace our needs are being met". But it does amaze us so much to see so many people being taken care of. It’s an immense job I should mention here. Coz taking care of elderly peoples is a task, coz they have their bad moods which surely they don't know most of the times what their saying or doing.

We Chisel's wanted to step in there to meet those precious people. So, on one spring day, the April 9th we ventured to be with them a day, sponsoring that days lunch. Many of us planned to go, but unfortunately due to our state's elections on April 13th, many classes and offices were working on April 9th, which was supposed to be a second Saturday a non-working day. So it’s just few people who were able to make it up. We wanted to be there around 11am. But I eventually ended up there only around 2pm. As that day was my B’day I had guests coming home to wish me and wasn’t able to be there on time. Felshya wanted to be there, but she had classes to lecture, so she gave up. Monica made up on time with her family and few friends. And so they started serving foods to all. I joined them in a while. We had lunch with Mr. Paul. Later a volunteer took us to the blocks to see few people. They were glad to see us and greeted us. Some spoke about their journey here, which heart was breaking. And few did mention their glad to be in Little Drops. Inside little drops they had another home known as Rehoboth, were they take care of mentally challenged girls. The girls actually are really happy to have visitors. They were overjoyed seeing us; they greeted us with handshakes and hugs and were calling us Anna (Bro) and Akka (Sis). We spoke to few and all wished me Happy B’Day.

Then it was already evening, so we thought we’ll leave, but was invited to the office to have Tea with Paul uncle. We were chatting with him, about how he had this idea to start an old age home for destitute. Uncle was saying, that his childhood days was a bit of struggle coz of his father’s unexpected death, which shook them financially as well and so he wanted to do something for people in need once he grows up was his aim he said. Then he started working for Indian Airlines, both him and his wife Mrs. Sheila Paul, a really good singer. They both gave VRS to their good job and bought a piece of land near porur Chennai to start a home for Orphan kids. But Uncle Paul says, “I thought there were quite a few Orphanage home around that I decided to take care of aged people who are left in the roads by their own children and so started with this home”.  And he said there would be 6-7 deaths a week, for which a proper burial would be given. They have an ambulance to take anybody who’s serious to the Hospital. He said if we see any aged people in the road we can bring them in by following a simple procedure. Which is to take them to a nearby Police Station and get a memo from the cops, which states that we have found this old man/woman in the road and I am taking him/her to a home. The Cops give us a copy of that memo, which we should summit here and they are taken in. Each person holds a file, with their photo and little about them, just for reference sake I guess.

Well, we wanted to salute the man for his accomplishment, but just told him that we are so pleased to get a chance to be part of your dream for few hours. Bidding farewell to all, us started of with so much of blessings and joy in our hearts.

Hundreds of parties can never equalize the Joy we receive in a simple act of kindness. We Chisel’s feel so blessed for God choosing us to be the Chisel’s in His hand in the midst of millions of peoples in earth. And so are the others who push us forward with their prayers and money. So I dedicate this Blog to all those peoples who supports us to be the Chisel’s. God Bless !!!!!!!

The Calling !!!!!!!!

Bible Quote:

"We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in a proportion to his faith."

"If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach;"

"If it is encouraging, let him encourage; If its contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully"

Romans 12:6, 7 & 8

The calling may differ from person to person. Its not what your called matters, but its 'Job Done' according to your calling matters eventually..

It is wonderful to get the answers of payers. But it is even more wonderful when God converts you into an answer to somebody’s prayer. We the Chisel’s were being called to be somebody’s prayer. Meeting the needs of helpless is what we felt when we first started off. We believe this was really are calling and vision of God for the Chisel’s. And we assertively will do a good job.

Ann Chisel...
